Wendy Nelson and Shannah Nelson Killed in Truck Accident in Powell County, WY

Powell County, WY — February 24, 2023, Wendy Nelson and Shannah Nelson lost their lives in a collision with a semi-truck around 12:45 p.m. on W. Coulter Ave. in Powell County.

Authorities report Wendy Nelson and Shannah Nelson, sisters, were in a Chevy Silverado traveling eastbound on W. Coulter Ave. (a.k.a. Powell Highway) while a Volo tractor-trailer was headed westbound. The two vehicles allegedly collided when the Silverado spun counterclockwise across all lanes of traffic and into the westbound lanes and shoulder.

Officials say the Silverado's rear end and the semi-truck's nose collided.

The driver of the semi-truck is reportedly uninjured. Both Wendy Nelson and Shannah Nelson lost their lives in the crash.
