Linden, TX Semi Truck Accident Injures 2 on US 59 at FM 125

Authorities said that they were called to the scene after an 18-wheeler going northbound on FM 125. At the US 59 intersection, the 18-wheeler crashed with a westbound Volkswagen Jetta. The two occupants, both 16-year-old girls, had injuries. According to initial details, both drivers claimed they had the green light, while video apparently showed that northbound traffic had a green light leading up to the collision. This and other details can't be confirmed right now.

Video evidence is a pretty key detail for finding out what happened, but even video can be just another piece of the puzzle. I have no reason to doubt these initial claims, but there could still be extenuating circumstances to consider. Even something unusual, like a mechanical defect, is worth considering if it means getting the whole story. As quick as people are to blame teenagers in these situations, I wouldn't consider this crash at all to be an exception to that prudence. Hopefully authorities agree in that sense and were able to get a lot more information than what little they released to the public.
