Fernando Baldazo Killed in Car Accident in Rusk County, TX

Rusk County, TX -- February 26, 2023, Fernando Baldazo was killed due to an accident where his vehicle crashed off the side of the road.

Investigators said that the incident happened at around 12:55 a.m. along Highway 42, just south of Kilgore. It appears that 22-year-old Fernando Baldazo was in a vehicle going southbound along the highway. Somehow, the vehicle went off-road on a curve, then crashed into a tree.

Due to the collision, Baldazo sustained fatal injuries. No one else was said to be involved. Beyond this, authorities released no additional details. I can only hope that's them being prudent rather than a sign they're not giving the crash the attention it deserves.

It would shock people to see how many families have come to me about single-vehicle wrecks where it turned out authorities either barely looked into the crash or simply jumped to conclusions and missed something important. Single-vehicle wreck are a lot more complex than people realize, which is why I can't help wondering if steps are being taken to get answers about this young man's accident. There is a family out there that deserves answers.
