Kasidy Little, Derek Miller Injured in Car Accident in Azle, TX

Azle, TX -- February 12, 2023, Kasidy Little and Derek Miller were injured due to an accident where the vehicle they were in crashed.

Investigators said that the incident happened at around 1:25 a.m. along Highway 199 near Florence Drive. It appears that 27-year-old Derek Miller and 23-year-old Kasidy Little were in a Ford F-250 traveling eastbound along a ramp. The driver of the pickup apparently may have over-corrected to avoid another vehicle, and the vehicle lost control. This sent it into the concrete median barrier where it then overturned.

Both Little and Miller were said to have incapacitating injuries due to the crash. The driver's condition wasn't specified. Police said they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. I would need to see the evidence myself to say if that's true or not, so keep in mind authorities sometimes say that only for evidence to show otherwise.

If alcohol was a factor, though, there may be a complex path forward in finding out what all happened here. Things aren't always about intoxicated drivers alone. There can also be local establishments responsible if they illegally over-served that driver and contributed to the victims' injuries. Police don't always look into that, either, though. My hope is authorities here don't get side-tracked looking for someone to charge and make time to get answers for the victims and families no doubt in need of help right now.
