Julissa Gamez, Ta Sharyana Chandler, 2 Injured in Car Accident in San Antonio, TX

San Antonio, TX -- February 18, 2023, Julissa Gamez, Ta Sharyana Chandler, and two others were injured after a multi-car accident.

Initial details from authorities said that the incident took place at around 2:23 a.m. along US Highway 281 near the Loop 1604 interchange. It appears that 21-year-old Ta Sharyana Chandler was in a vehicle stopped in the roadway for unknown reasons. While there, a Ford F-150 stopped, and a passenger got out to check on Chandler. After this, a Honda CR-V driven by 25-year-old Julissa Gamez crashed into the stopped vehicles, hitting the Ford F-150 passenger that was outside of the vehicle at the time.

Due to the collision, the passenger had injuries described as incapacitating. The three drivers were said to have non-incapacitating injuries. Right now, additional details cannot be officially confirmed. An early-morning collision like this can raise all kinds of red flags, but that doesn't mean investigators can take other possibilities lightly. It's possible unusual circumstances set all of this into motion, and getting people the help they need almost always starts by getting them answers. Are those steps being taken here?
