Mississippi Man Injured in Truck Accident on US 81 in Wise County, TX

Wise County, TX -- January 25, 2023, a Mississippi man was injured due to an accident where two semi-trucks crashed.

Preliminary details said that the incident happened at the intersection of US Highway 81 and Ramhorn Hill Road at around 5:30 a.m. It appears that a 73-year-old Picayune, Mississippi, man was in a Ford truck traveling southbound on the highway. At Ramhorn Hill, an eastbound tractor-trailer failed to yield, police say. This caused the vehicle to collide.

The driver of the Ford was taken from the scene with incapacitating injuries. The driver of the eastbound truck said that their truck stalled across southbound lanes, and they were trying to restart it. It's unclear if authorities confirmed that, but they don't usually say someone "failed to yield" when they were stationary in the path of traffic. They'll usually say something more like "blocking lanes of travel" or "parked unsafely".

Maybe that's just a minor detail for whoever investigated this crash, but maybe it's a sign that there's more to this story than a truck simply breaking down. Is this really the full story, and if not, does the victim involved have the answers they need that weren't given to the public? I don't mind not knowing what happened in a crash so long as the people involved are getting the full story. It's not clear right now if that's happened.
