Austin Man Injured in Truck Accident on I-35 in Hillsboro, TX
Hillsboro, TX -- January 24, 2023, an Austin man was injured following an accident where his vehicle and a semi-truck crashed along I-35.
Investigators said that the incident happened near mile marker 367 at approximately 3:23 p.m. Their initial statements say that a 36-year-old Austin man was in a Chevy Tahoe traveling southbound along I-35. It's possible a medical event caused the vehicle to lost control, and it crashed into an 18-wheeler, then the median barrier.

The driver of the Chevy was taken from the scene with injuries described as incapacitating. Additional details about the crash are unavailable at this time. If it's true this was all due to a medical emergency, then it's unfortunate to see what may have been an entirely unavoidable accident. With that said, I've seen similar reports where it turned out police were just making assumptions and never followed up with further investigations to get actual evidence. Hopefully nothing like that happened here. It's never good to see victims or families left in the dark without the answers or the help they deserve.
