Harris County, TX -- November 6, 2022, Flodia Mae Young was injured due to an accident allegedly involving a hit-and-run.

Others informed investigators that another driver fled the scene on foot. Records show police identified a suspect and filed charges for failure to stop and render aid. Additional details surrounding the crash are unavailable.

While it's encouraging that police believe they have the person who fled the scene of this accident, it's important to find out why they left the scene. It could be as simple as someone panicking or running from warrants. Sometimes, though, it can be more complex, such as a drunk driver who was illegally over-served by a local bar. Did authorities look into those possibilities to make sure all factors were properly addressed, or did they consider the story over once they had charges on the books?
