Del Valle, TX -- February 22, 2023, an adult and a child were seriously injured after an accident between two vehicles on FM 812.

The cause of the crash is unclear at this time. Officials described it only as a "major two-vehicle crash." Due to the collision, a child was flown to Dell Children's in critical condition. An adult also had serious injuries. It's unclear if anyone else was hurt. The crash remains under investigation at this time.

With a serious head-on collision like this, people may not realize just what all goes into a proper investigation. It's not always as simple as checking phone records or speeds. Did the airbags go off? Did seatbelts work properly? Is there an issue with the road itself? Does the area see an unusually high number of accidents like this? Did any kind of tire failure lead to the accident? If investigators aren't looking into things like that, they could easily overlook something important. Clearly, that wouldn't be all that helpful to the victims and families in need. That's why they deserve to know they're going to get all the facts, sooner rather than later. The fact a child has now died as a result of this crash only makes that more crucial.
