Raymond Anderson Injured in Truck Accident in Jefferson County, TX

Jefferson County, TX -- February 20, 2023, Raymond Anderson was injured following an accident where a semi-truck and a pickup crashed.

Authorities said that the crash happened just before 5:00 p.m. along westbound lanes of Highway 73, just off mile marker 750.

Statements say that 68-year-old Raymond Anderson was in a Ford pickup traveling along the highway. It was said that the pickup was "swerving" when it somehow crashed with a Freightliner that was also westbound. This caused the pickup to overturn off-road.

Anderson was taken to a hospital following the crash. No information can be confirmed at this time. Saying that someone was "swerving" will no doubt raise eyebrows, but there could be many reasonable explanations for something like that to occur. For all we know, there was some kind of medical emergency going on. It's also possible there were mechanical issues the driver was fighting against to keep control of the vehicle.

Other possibilities are obviously worth attention, as well. That's why my hope is authorities are working to get a more thorough understanding of what led to this crash so nothing important slips through the cracks.
