I consistently talk about the challenge that comes with a commercial truck wreck. It's not just about the company that inevitably becomes involved. It's also about the chaos of the crash scenes, the unique factors that don't typically come with passenger vehicles, and the time and equipment it requires to do the job right. Here, police say this involved three tractor-trailers. Are they going to be able to handle that on their own?

I don't have any specific reservations about authorities in Centre County or Pennsylvania as a whole. Every department has their own challenges, their own workloads, and their own priorities. That's why some have to pass this sort of thing off to independent accident reconstructionists. The ones that fail to end up missing important details, and the victims and families involved end up getting far less than they deserve in terms of answers. Hopefully those in charge of this incident know how to handle things properly so nothing slips through the cracks.
