Jesica Nanci Guzman, Rolando Ramirez, 2 Injured in Truck Accident in Frisco, TX

Frisco, TX -- February 2, 2023, Jesica Nanci Guzman, Rolando Ramirez, and two others were injured due to an accident involving a box truck.

Investigators said that the incident happened along Highway 121 at the intersection of Independence Parkway at around 3:40 p.m.

Initial details about the crash say that 39-year-old Rolando Ramirez and 36-year-old Jesica Guzman were in a Ford F-150 traveling westbound on Highway 121. At the intersection, their vehicle crashed with a box truck that apparently disregarded the traffic signal.

Due to the collision, Guzman was said to have incapacitating injuries, as was the driver of the box truck, a 49-year-old Sherman man. Ramirez and a passenger in the box truck had less severe injuries. Right now, authorities have not given additional details about the crash.

If what the police say here is true, then it wouldn't be too hard to figure out went wrong. If evidence corroborates their claims, a truck ran a light. Pretty simple, right? Well, that's not always the whole story. Thorough investigations must also answer why the crash happened.

There could be a complex situation like one I dealt with not long ago where a truck driver crashed while texting and driving. As open-and-shut as that seemed, it took more thorough independent investigations to prove he was only doing so because he was required to by his idiot supervisor that cared more about micromanaging his employees than the safety of those around them.

Whether this all was the result of something simple or something highly unusual, it's rarely ever enough just to have someone to blame. The hundreds of people I've helped through similar situations wanted something more: accountability. Hopefully authorities are being thorough enough that they let the facts tell the whole story instead of just leaving a family with an easy but unsatisfactory explanation.
