Albert Grady Jr. Injured in Semi-Truck Accident in Hamilton County, IA

Hamilton County, IA -- February 14, 2023, Albert Grady Jr. was injured due to an accident involving a commercial truck.

Initial details about the crash said that it happened late Tuesday in the area of Williams, just east of Webster City. It appears that Albert Grady Jr. was in an SUV traveling northbound on the interstate. A tractor-trailer traveling the same direction apparently hit Grady's SUV while changing lanes. This sent Grady to a hospital to be checked for "possible injuries". Police mentioned possible citations for the truck driver involved.

As infuriating as it is that there may have been a professional driver here that couldn't do something as elementary as make a safe lane change, there is some silver lining that there are no immediate details of serious injuries.

I just hope it isn't like a crash I handled a while back where a man was sent home with some minor back pain only for it to become crippling just days later. Turned out that "minor" injury was a ruptured disk in his spine. I don't know who out there would call surgery and months of battling it out with the insurance company "minor," but I know I wouldn't, even if we did ultimately get the man the help he need.

I certainly wouldn't wish that on anyone so my hope here is that the "possible" injuries aren't serious and that a man doesn't have to pay the price for someone else's stupid mistakes.
