Trevino sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. No one else was said to be injured. At this time, an exact cause for the crash remains unclear.

One of my biggest concerns after just about any serious crash is simply whether or not authorities are giving it the attention it deserves. While it's not entirely unusual for there to be so few details this soon after a crash, it can sometimes be a sign that authorities weren't able to get that much evidence early on. That can be due to shortage of staffing, poor equipment, chaotic crash scenes, factors which they aren't trained to look into, etc. I have no particular reason to doubt the abilities of officers here, though, so my hope is they're continuing to work to get the victim's loved ones the answers they deserve.
