Robert “Bobby” E. Bowling Jr. Killed in Train Accident in Ashland, KY

Ashland, KY — February 14, 2023, a dump truck was struck by a train while it was crossing the tracks around 12 p.m. at the 42nd crossing in Ashland, KY.

Preliminary investigations say that Robert Bowling Jr., the owner of Bob Bowling Trucking, was in a dump truck turning off U.S. Highway 23 onto 42nd Street in Ashland, KY, across from Ashland Fire Department’s Station 2 when hit by a train. Mr. Bowling was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The train engineers are reportedly unharmed.

The crash is currently under investigation, and there are no further details at this time.
