Tina Berki Killed in Tractor-Trailer Accident in Kleberg County, TX

Kleberg County, TX -- February 11, 2023, Tina Berki was killed due to an accident where a tractor-trailer ran her over.

Investigators said they were called to an area along US 77 north of the Sarita Border Patrol checkpoint (near Kenedy County) at around 9:00 a.m.

Right now, the exact circumstances are unclear. 59-year-old Tina Berki was said to be one of the two occupants of a semi-truck which was stopped. The following events are vague at this time. It appears Berki and the other truck occupant went to the bathroom at "different times." Somehow, when the other occupant got in the truck and drove off, Berki ended up beneath the trailer and sustained fatal injuries.

I can only hope authorities have a clearer picture of what went wrong here than what's in the news, because these details leave far too many unanswered questions. How did the victim end up beneath the trailer? Why did the driver move without her in the truck? Were these co-workers? Was there some kind of procedure the driver was supposed to follow? Did this happen at a location with witnesses or video footage that can clear up the events?

It's entirely possible authorities know more than they've told the public, but I can't help worrying that the victim's loved ones are getting as muddled a picture as the rest of us are. Considering they're the ones most in need of answers here, that simply wouldn't be acceptable.
