Authorities said that the incident happened at around 9:10 p.m. along FM 1791. 57-year-old Brenda Smith was said to be the driver of a Chevy Trax traveling northbound along FM 1791. The vehicle somehow left the roadway before hitting a driveway and overturning.

Smith's injuries following the crash were said to be incapacitating. No one else appeared to be involved. More details are necessary to confirm the cause of the crash. My hope is that authorities were able to get those details even if they simply didn't release them to the public. I too often see investigators treat single-vehicle wrecks like they're no big deal, but they're pretty darn important to the victims and families involved. That's why getting them as much evidence as possible should be a priority after crashes like this, and it remains to be seen if authorities ever did that.
