Following the crash, the driver, identified by officials as 45-year-old Jesus Gonzalez, was pronounced deceased. At this time, a specific cause for the crash is unavailable, though authorities suggested that weather conditions pay have contributed.

While I have little doubt weather conditions played some role in this crash, it's always important to make sure investigators aren't just jumping to conclusions. It would surprise folks to see how often families came to me with "finalized" reports which said little more than the victim crashed on "slick roads" without actually saying why or whether or not they were actually to blame. For a grieving family, that simply isn't good enough. I don't see any particular reason why a crash like this wouldn't warrant every effort to get clear answers.
