Driver Killed in Car Accident at I-35E & Walton Walker in Dallas, TX
Dallas, TX -- February 9, 2023, a driver was killed as the result of an accident where their vehicle crashed and caught fire along I-35E.
Investigators said that the incident happened at around 4:00 a.m. at the I-35E and Walton Walker/Loop 12 interchange. It appears that a vehicle merging onto Walton Walker somehow crashed into a barrier. The vehicle then caught fire. The unidentified driver of the vehicle was found to be deceased at the crash scene, authorities say. No further information can be confirmed at this time.

One of the biggest concerns I have with early morning single-vehicle wrecks is that they don't always get enough attention from authorities. Despite all kinds of things like mechanical defects, medical emergencies, or hit-and-runs being possible, even authorities can be quick to just assume the driver did something wrong. That's possible, of course, but I know if I lost a loved one in a crash like this, I wouldn't settle for what "probably" happened. I'd want to see the facts. Hopefully investigators for the Dallas County Sheriff's office are giving this crash that same level of attention.
