Woman Injured in Tesla Accident on Lovers Lane in Dallas, TX

Dallas, TX -- September 14, 2022, a woman was injured following an accident where her Tesla and another vehicle crashed on Lovers Lane.

According to initial information provided by authorities, the incident happened at around 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Lovers Lane and Eastern Avenue.

It appears a 24-year-old woman was in a Tesla traveling eastbound on Lovers. From oncoming lanes, an SUV apparently failed to yield, crashing with the Tesla.

The woman was taken to a hospital with incapacitating injuries while the other driver appeared to be unharmed. No further information is available at this time.

Put simply, Teslas tend to grab attention due to the controversies surrounding the company and those associated with it. As a result, there can sometimes be a lot of speculation surrounding what is generally a pretty straight-forward incident. Here, authorities believe that the other driver just failed to yield. There's not much an unsuspecting driver can do to prevent that, Tesla or not.

That said, it would also be unwise to write off all concerns about Teslas as mere fearmongering. There are some issues that have come up with things like its automatic driving as well as concerns about battery fires. They're still relatively new vehicles, and it's at least worth some consideration into whether or not the vehicle protected its occupant up to modern safety standards, regardless of who caused the crash itself. Whether or not the authorities here dug into that sort of thing isn't clear right now.
