Hugh Norris, Nancy Norris Injured in Car Accident in Georgetown, TX
Georgetown, TX -- September 14, 2022, Hugh Norris and Nancy Norris were injured after an accident where their SUV and a pickup collided.
Investigators said that the incident happened at around 2:00 p.m. along Williams Drive at Serenada and Deer Haven.
85-year-old Hugh Norris and 81-year-old Nancy Norris were in a Subaru Outback traveling southbound along Serenada. At Williams, their vehicle was t-boned by a pickup traveling northwest. Police believe that pickup disregarded a red light.

Both Hugh and Nancy Norris had injuries said to be incapacitating. The other driver wasn't hurt. A key piece of information not currently confirmed is why the pickup went through the red light. The more likely explanation is that the driver was looking at their phone. It's all too common these days. But did authorities rule out things like alcohol? Drugs? Speeding? Racing? Even things like a mechanical defect or faulty traffic signals are worth attention when someone is seriously hurt, as appears to be what happened here.
My concern is that after months of work, authorities may not know any more than what they've made available to the public. Authorities in Georgetown are surely prudent enough to make sure the victims have all the facts, but mistakes can happen, and it's always important to be sure investigators were thorough.
