There are plenty of details about this crash that would require more evidence to confirm. I'm not here to speculate. But something I noticed was both vehicles involved are relatively recent models. Unless this crash happened at high speeds or involved unique factors not mentioned in the reports, I can't help wondering if the drivers' injuries were solely due to the collision.

Something authorities often overlook is that people tend to be okay in modern vehicles thanks to the progress the industry has made in safety standards. But sometimes, faulty airbags, seatbelts, seat assemblies, car bodies, and other parts fail to protect their occupants adequately. If investigators don't look for that kind of thing, someone could lose their life due to an issue that could have been addressed.

I certainly can't say anything like that happened here, but it just occurs to me from time to time that not everyone catches these details, and it's helpful for the public to understand why investigating crashes like this aren't all just about right of way and cell phone usage.
