Something that stood out to me was it appears the Jeep was turning into a convenience store when the crash happened. That's actually a potentially big deal. Folks forget that cameras are all over the place these days, and that can lead to vital evidence for people trying to ensure no one muddies the waters about what caused the crash.

Not that long ago, for example, I helped someone involved in a similar wreck where a semi hit her as she waited to make a left turn. The insurance company tried to dump the blame on her, saying she slammed on her brakes without a turn signal. Thanks to our investigations, though, we got security footage clearly showing the victim turn on their blinker, slow to a stop, then wait for a bout 6 or 7 seconds before the truck hit her. It was clear as day that the truck driver wasn't paying attention.

Ultimately, one of the best lessons I learned was to never take the facts for granted. As they say, it's not about what you know; it's about what you can prove. I can't recall a scenario I've encountered that would be the exception to that.
