Marshall Nicholas Lachapelle Injured in Truck Accident in Brazoria County, TX
Brazoria County, TX -- December 7, 2022, Marshall Lachapalle Injured due to an accident where his vehicle crashed into an 18-wheeler.
Details from authorities said that the incident happened along Highway 36 near County Road 11 at around 5:40 a.m. It was apparently foggy at the time as 51-year-old Marshall Lachapalle traveling southbound along the highway. Ahead, an 18-wheeler driver apparently thought they had enough time to make a left turn across highway lanes to go northbound. As it did so, Lachapalle's vehicle crashed into the trailer.
Lachapalle had injuries said to be incapacitating due to the crash. No one else was hurt. Authorities said that the truck failed to yield. No further details can be confirmed.

This crash is eerily similar to one I had a family come to me about not long ago. An 18-wheeler turned across a highway, and a vehicle with the right-of-way crashed into. The excuses that company made to try to duck responsibility were ridiculous, but we knew they had to be taken seriously. They claimed the driver was driving too fast to judge the distance, said they had no seatbelt on, and said they should have been able to stop before hitting the trailer.
Through our work, we got evidence for each of those ludicrous claims. Forensic evidence proved that the car was going at a reasonable speed, emergency responders all testified they had to cut the victim's seatbelt just to get them out of the car, and our examination of the truck showed it had no runner lights, and the reflective tape was all but useless due to how dirty it was. It wasn't long after that the trucking company saw they had little choice but to cooperate.
I don't know if the details surrounding this particular crash will ultimately prove similar to those I mentioned in the example, but it gets truly aggravating how many times I see crashes happen simply because a commercial vehicle driver couldn't wait a few seconds for a vehicle to pass them. It's truly awful this may be yet another family affected by entirely avoidable actions.
