Deniro Haynes Injured in Truck Accident on US-59 in Polk County, TX

Polk County, TX — January 10, 2023, 34-year-old Deniro Haynes was seriously injured in a crash with a commercial truck on U.S. Highway 59 in Polk County.

Authorities say the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on US-59 at Hester Road. Preliminary investigation suggests Haynes was driving a Ford Taurus west through the turnaround lane between north- and southbound US-59 when he allegedly failed to yield the right-of-way as he drove toward Hester Road on the other side of the highway.

As the car crossed the southbound lanes it was hit by a Mack semi-truck. Investigators say the truck driver tried to steer clear but the truck's front hit the back of the Taurus. The impact spun the car around and it came to rest upright on the shoulder at Hester Road.

Haynes suffered serious injuries in the collision. The truck driver was unhurt.
