Mario Andino Flores Killed in Pedestrian Accident in Houston, TX

Houston, TX -- October 13, 2022, Mario Andino Flores was killed due to an accident where a vehicle struck him in the roadway.

Investigators said they were called to the area of Westheimer Road near Briarwest Road just before noon. It appears that 64-year-old Mario Andino Flores was walking at the time and entered eastbound lanes of Westheimer. There, a vehicle struck and killed Flores.

Beyond this, there are no additional details about the accident. Frankly, I can't help but wonder if this is the whole story. Shortly before noon, it's not like a pedestrian is going to be shrouded in darkness. Obviously there are circumstances where someone enters the path of a vehicle without enough time for the driver to react. Was this one of those times, or would evidence show that a safe driver could have avoided this awful event?
