Silvia Rivera, 1 Injured in Car Accident in Dallas, TX

Dallas, TX -- June 8, 2022, Silvia Rivera and another person were injured due to an accident where two SUVs collided.

Investigators said that the incident happened at 6:20 a.m. at Buckner Boulevard and Garland Road.

From authorities, it appears that 41-year-old Silvia Rivera was in a Chevy Traverse traveling northwest along Buckner. While making a protected turn, officials allege a southbound Jeep Grand Cherokee disregarded the light and crashed into the side of Rivera's vehicle.

Rivera's injuries were described as incapacitating while the other driver's injuries were said to be non-incapacitating. No further information has been provided. Hopefully authorities were able to find out more than they've released to the public. Someone running a red light is obviously a big mistake, but finding out why they did it is crucial. There's a big difference between drunk driving, for example, and brake failure due to a mechanical defect. Likely or not, it's important that victims know they're getting the full story so they can make the most informed decisions possible going forward.
