Driver Injured in Truck Hit-and-run Accident on Highway 85 in McKenzie County, ND

McKenzie County, ND -- January 23, 2023, one person was injured due to an accident where a truck hit their vehicle, then left the scene.

Investigators were called to mile 151 alone Highway 85 just outside of Arnegard at around 6:30 a.m. It appears that a westbound truck with a flatbed trailer somehow crossed the center line. Doing so, it sideswiped a Chevy Colorado driven by a 48-year-old Watford City man. The truck then left the scene. The Watford City man was left with potentially serious injuries.

Beyond this, there aren't many details to go on. Perhaps authorities have more to work with behind the scenes, but the community should still be as vigilant as possible for more information. More often than not, the reason police locate a runaway driver is because someone sees details in the news which help them connect the dots to someone they know or have seen. The same could very well happen here so long as the details stay in the public eye as much as possible.
