While the cause of the crash has not been publicly stated, my concern is some folks may think they already know what happened. I've seen all kinds of motorcycle wrecks over the years, and I know that safe riders are still vulnerable to things like tire blowouts, road hazards, mechanical issues, and especially larger vehicles not keeping a proper lookout for them. Others, however, simply blame motorcyclists just because they think all riders are reckless daredevils.

I certainly wouldn't ignore things like speeding or distraction after any fatal wreck, but too often I see situations where people just blame a motorcyclist without any regard for other possibilities. For all we know, someone hit the motorcycle, then fled the scene. My hope is that authorities have been prudent behind the scenes by allowing the evidence to speak for itself rather than jumping to conclusions based on some kind of unfair bias.
