Pedestrian Hit, Injured by Transit Bus on Scott Street in Houston, TX

Houston, TX — August 27, 2022, a 70-year-old pedestrian was hit and seriously injured by a passenger bus on Scott Street in Houston.

Authorities say the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on the 3900 block of Scott Street near Ruth Street. Preliminary investigation suggests a Nova transit bus was traveling north on Scott as the victim was standing by a bus stop nearby. Investigators said that as the bus pulled away from the stop the pedestrian may have fallen over and the bus hit them.

The pedestrian was seriously injured in the collision.

No further information is currently available.

Maybe things happened exactly as they were described here, but I can't be the only one left wondering how and why a man mysteriously fell over and got hit by a bus (and whether that could or should have been prevented). Given the serious injuries that followed it seems only right to learn more about the circumstances of that, as there seem to be plenty of blanks left unfilled. I just hope authorities will ultimately find the whole story for the folks that need and deserve it.
