Man Killed in Semi-Truck Accident on I-10 in Austin County, TX

Austin County, TX -- December 29, 2022, a 22-year-old man was killed following an accident where a semi-truck crashed into a car on I-10.

Investigators say that the crash happened at around 3:22 a.m. along I-10 near mile marker 688. They say that a 22-year-old man was in an Acura which was moving "slowly" along the westbound shoulder. When the vehicle pulled onto main lanes, an 18-wheeler crashed into the car, ultimately killing the driver of the Acura.

Beyond this, no further information has been made publicly available. It makes me wonder if the crash ever got the attention it deserves. If the news is barely talking about this crash, it could be a reflection of how high a priority it is for the authorities—which unfortunately is to say not that high.

Put simply, the victim isn't around to tell their side of the story. Unless police have clear video evidence or numerous witness statements to fill in the gaps, how can the victim's loved ones move on without knowing all the facts? I know if I lost a loved one in a crash, I'd want to know the whole story, whatever it was. Doing so would likely mean getting answers far more thorough than what I'm seeing currently.
