Driver Injured in Rollover Accident on FM 95 in Nacogdoches County, TX

Nacogdoches County, TX — July 4, 2022, a 37-year-old man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident on Farm to Market Road 95 in Nacogdoches County.

Authorities say the incident happened around 4:30 a.m. on FM 95 near State Highway 103. Preliminary investigation suggests the victim was driving a Ford F-350 pickup with an attached trailer north on the roadway when he entered a curve at alleged unsafe speeds. The truck ran partly off the road into the ditch, then over-corrected and passed back through the travel lanes. It began to side-skid and then rolled over one or more times, during which its trailer detached.

The driver suffered serious injuries in the crash. Investigators suspected he might have been under the influence of alcohol and collected blood specimens for testing.

No further information is currently available.

It's always important to keep an open mind and withhold judgment after an accident until a full investigation is complete and all the facts are in. Even if the preliminary details seem pretty straightforward, there may be more to the story that went unrecognized at the time. For example, people don't always realize that in many cases a local alcohol-serving business may be partly responsible for the injuries caused in a DWI crash so part of learning the whole story involves finding out where the alleged alcohol was consumed.

I'm not saying a bad bar must be involved in what happened in Nacogdoches County, but that's the point: Unless all the facts are rounded up and assembled into the big picture, there's no telling what else might have played a part. A man was seriously hurt this crash, and whatever police at the scene believed he deserves to know the matter was taken seriously and investigated carefully. I hope authorities provided that reassurance.
