Pedestrian Angela Moreno Killed by Vehicle on Howard Ln in Austin, TX

Austin, TX — January 14, 2023, pedestrian Angela Moreno was struck and killed by a vehicle on East Howard Lane in Austin.

Authorities say the incident happened around 3:05 a.m. on the 300 block of East Howard. Preliminary investigation suggests Moreno was allegedly standing in the road's inside travel lane when she was struck and fatally injured by a pickup truck. After the collision the driver remained at the scene.

The investigation continues. No further information is currently available.

It seems like there's no telling what happened here right now. Preliminary reports only say the victim of this accident was on foot in the roadway, but don't (or can't) shed much light on the circumstances surrounding that. I think everyone can agree she didn't just appear there, though, so I hope authorities consider the possible explanations, find the facts, and get to the bottom of what really happened. I have little doubt the victim's family would appreciate some real answers, and they deserve no less.
