Salvador Martinez Killed in Hit-and-run Accident in Houston, TX

Houston, TX -- December 31, 2022, Salvador Martinez was killed due to an accident where a vehicle struck him, then left the scene.

Information provided by Harris County officials says that the incident happened at approximately 11:38 p.m. along Sweetwater Lane off the corner of Saddle Rock Drive.

It appears that Salvador Martinez was walking at the time when a vehicle in the northbound lane struck him. That vehicle, which police did not describe, then left the scene. Martinez succumbed to fatal injuries.

Right now, there are no additional details available, but that doesn't mean there are none to find. More often than not, hit-and-runs are resolved because someone in the community is able to connect the dots and go to police with important details. Whether that's a security camera catching the vehicle, an acquaintance turning in the runaway driver, or even the driver themselves coming forward with enough public pressure, I remain hopeful that continued efforts will provide answers for this man's loved ones.
