Something people don't always realize is that preliminary reports only give a rough picture of what happened. Police piece together the basics from what they find, add whatever their "gut feeling" tells them, and come up with a plausible narrative, but they often miss critical details that won't or can't be discovered by a once-over at the scene.
That seems to happen a lot after single-vehicle accidents, for example. Fingers sometimes get pointed much too quickly at the drivers, but there's a lot of reasons a vehicle could go out of control as allegedly happened in Ovilla. Some of them might be driver mistakes, but many others—tire blowouts, vehicle malfunctions, poor road conditions, even other vehicles running the victim off the road—certainly aren't. It's important not to jump to any conclusions before careful investigation discovers all the facts. The people affected by the crash deserve the whole story; I just hope they were satisfied with what authorities concluded.
