Anthony Andrews Injured in Auto Accident on SH 360 in Arlington, TX
Arlington, TX — January 1, 2023, 43-year-old Anthony "Tony" Andrews was seriously injured in an auto accident on State Highway 360 in Arlington.
Authorities say the incident happened around 6:35 a.m. on Highway 360 near Campfire Creek Drive. Preliminary investigation suggests a Jeep Compass was headed south on the highway in the center lane as Andrews drove a Ram 1500 pickup south ahead and one lane to the right. According to an interviewed witness the Jeep allegedly drifted into Andrews' lane and the Jeep struck the Ram's rear-left quarter. After they impact the pickup ran off the road and rolled over several times.
Andrews was seriously injured in the crash and was transported to an area hospital. The Jeep driver reportedly received minor injuries and was not transported.
No further information is currently available.
Maybe investigators already said more or less everything there is to know about this accident, but I'd point out that so far nobody has said exactly why the Jeep hit the truck. The witness told investigators neither driver seemed to be acting erratic or speeding, yet somehow there was a collision. What went wrong?
I doubt I'm alone in thinking that means there's more work to do figuring out the wreck's actual cause. If nothing else, the man who was seriously injured in that rollover crash deserves to know the whole story. The current "who knows" narrative leaves a lot to be desired, so I hope authorities will fill in more blanks before all is said and done.
