Motorcyclist Killed in Accident on Highway 183 in Bedford, TX

Bedford, TX -- January 14, 2023, one person was killed following an accident where a motorcycle and another vehicle crashed on TX-183.

Initial details given in the news says the crash happened at around 10:00 p.m. in the area of Highway 183 and Forest Ridge Drive. Beyond that, details are scarce. Officials said that a motorcycle and another vehicle collided, ultimately killing the rider. No other injuries were reported.

It's not exactly unusual to see few details about a fatal crash just a couple of days after it happened. But folks would be shocked to see how often weeks and months pass only for families to end up with no more information than what was in the news immediately following the wreck.

The issue is simply that departments don't always prioritize accident reconstruction, meaning officers may not have the time or tools they need to do their jobs properly. Add on top of that concerns that motorcyclists don't always get the respect they deserve, and one can see why I might have some concerns about whether or not the victim's loved ones here are getting clear answers about what happened.
