Hernan Santiago Bautista Killed in Car Accident in Flower Mound, TX
Flower Mound, TX -- November 25, 2022, Hernan Santiago Bautista was killed after an accident where the vehicle he was in crashed off-road.
Details given by officials said the incident took place at around 1:10 a.m. along Cross Timbers/FM 1171 near Tour 18 Drive.
It appears that 23-year-old Hernan Santiago Bautista was in a Hyundai Elantra traveling westbound along Cross Timbers. For reasons which have not been confirmed, the vehicle ran off-road and crashed into a tree.

Bautista's injuries proved fatal. No one else was said to be involved. That fact alone presents one of the most challenging factors in single-vehicle wrecks: there aren't always witnesses. Even if there are witnesses that weren't involved in the crash, they still can't speak for the victims. That's up to the evidence, and unfortunately not every department is as thorough as they should be when it comes to getting answers.
It shouldn't matter what is or isn't likely here. It shouldn't matter single vehicle wrecks are usually due to things like distraction, fatigue, or alcohol. What matters is that the victim's loved ones at least know they're getting the full story. Were there mechanical issues? Did a tire blowout? Is this stretch of road uniquely dangerous or poorly lit? Did a reckless driver cause the crash, then flee the scene? Maybe authorities were able to work behind the scenes to give this man's loved ones the answers they deserved, but the lack of details currently available to the public doesn't exactly inspire confidence that this incident is getting the consideration it deserves.
