Luigi Cardenas Injured in Alleged Hit-and-run Accident in Houston, TX

Houston, TX -- December 8, 2022, Luigi Cardenas was injured due to an accident where a vehicle struck him, then allegedly left the scene.

Preliminary details released publicly said that the incident took place at around 7:19 p.m. along Witcher Lane off the corner of Airline Drive. 34-year-old Luigi Cardenas was said to be walking at the time when a Lincoln MKZ struck him. Police say that vehicle then left the scene, but it appears the driver was later arrested. Cardenas had reportedly incapacitating injuries, and it appears charges are pending for failure to stop and render aid.

Beyond that, there isn't much information here, and folks may not see the need for further attention. But it would surprise people to see how important it can be to not only find out who the runaway driver was but also why they ran. It's rarely just a driver panicking. It's almost always to hide something like drunk driving, warrants, drugs, etc. Maybe nothing so serious happened here, but someone being seriously hurt is at least serious enough to make sure they're getting the whole story and seeing appropriate accountability for the hardships brought upon them.
