Driver Injured in 18-wheeler Accident on US 77 in Robinson, TX
Robinson, TX -- November 11, 2022, one person was injured following an accident where an 18-wheeler and a car collided on US 77.
Authorities said that the incident happened at around 6:10 p.m. along US 77/Robinson Drive near the intersection of Rosenthal Parkway.
It appears that a 29-year-old man was in a Hyundai Santa Fe traveling southbound on the highway. The Hyundai may have crossed into oncoming lanes where it crashed head-on into an 18-wheeler.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the Hyundai had incapacitating injuries. It appears no one else was injured. No further information can be confirmed at this time.

I certainly have no reason to doubt the claims that authorities are making here, but I also learned throughout my career the importance of taking early details with a grain of salt until more evidence comes to light. It would surprise people to see how often the authorities aren't actually getting the complete picture.
One thing to consider, for example, is who was available to give authorities a statement. In a serious crash, someone may be rushed to a hospital before authorities have a chance to speak to them. While most officers are able to follow up with them later on, some let that slip through the cracks. If there aren't numerous witnesses, video evidence, or other clear facts to build the narrative from, police may only be relaying what they heard from the other driver involved.
I'm not saying those drivers are always going to do something nefarious to tip the scales in their favor, but I find it helpful to consider the perspective of someone who was involved or had a loved one involved in a serious crash. Whatever happened, would I really be satisfied that the public was only getting one side of the story?
