Brittnie Crews Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident on RM 150 in Hays County, TX
Hays County, TX — December 11, 2022, 39-year-old Brittnie Crews was injured in a single-vehicle accident on Ranch to Market Road 150 in Hays County.
Authorities say the incident happened around 9:15 a.m. on RM 150 near Darden Hill Road. Preliminary investigation suggests Crews was driving a Subaru Forester SUV east on the roadway when she allegedly crossed over the center line while negotiating a curve. After entering partially into the westbound lane she over-corrected and the Subaru ran off the south side of the road. It then hit a concrete culvert and stopped, after which it caught fire.
Crews was seriously injured in the accident.

People rarely think about what a risky thing it can be to drive somewhere. Climbing into a few tons of explosion-powered steel and fiberglass and then being at the mercy of poor road conditions, vehicle malfunctions, traffic, medical emergencies, bad weather, and so many other variables can undo just about any amount of careful preparation and safe driving in an instant.
Of course, not everybody's so quick to see the wide variety of possible factors in a wreck like the one in Hays County. In fact, some quickly write off single-vehicle crashes as matters of driver error, like getting distracted by a phone or impairment. Those certainly happen, but I've also helped many crash victims who were initially accused of such carelessness only for evidence to ultimately prove they did nothing wrong.
That's why I often caution against making assumptions or writing any wreck off as "just another case of ____," no matter what preliminary reports may say. The victim deserves the benefit of the doubt and a careful investigation that finds the whole truth about how she got hurt, so I hope authorities provided both.
