Gary Gunn Injured in Car Accident in Kaufman County, TX

Kaufman County, TX -- December 28, 2022, Gary Gunn was injured as the result of an accident where his motorcycle crashed off-road.

Preliminary details made public by authorities indicate that the crash happened at around 9:37 p.m. along FM 2728 just off County Road 346.

Officials say that 73-year-old Gary Gunn was on a Harley-Davidson traveling northbound along the roadway. On a curve, the bike somehow ran off-road where it ejected Gunn. Gunn was said to have incapacitating injuries due to the crash.

Right now, the exact cause of the crash remains unconfirmed. For decades now, I've met motorcyclists who were incredibly safe drivers due to the fact that larger vehicle drivers simply aren't keeping a proper lookout for them. But despite what I and many riders know to the contrary, a lot of people still just see all riders as reckless daredevils. There are reckless bikers out there, but those assumptions often cause important details to slip through the cracks. Even less scrupulous police will overlook alternative explanations just because they've made up their minds without actually seeing the facts.

I certainly can't say what did or didn't happen here without more thorough investigations, but I have no reason to assume the victim did anything wrong. I hope others are wise enough to extend that same respect until the facts are clear.
