Leonel Casio Jr. Injured in Car Accident on Division Street in Arlington, TX
Arlington, TX — December 4, 2022, 20-year-old Leonel Casio Jr. was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident on Division Street in Arlington.
Authorities say the incident happened around 5:00 a.m. on the 3200 block of Division near Westfork Drive. Preliminary investigation suggests Casio was driving a Nissan Altima east on the roadway when he lost control for unconfirmed reasons. The car crossed through the westbound lanes and ran onto the grassy shoulder, where it hit a tree and a power pole.
Casio received serious injuries in the crash and was taken to a hospital. Investigators reportedly suspected he was under the influence of alcohol and collected blood samples for testing.

People have an unfortunate tendency to take what they see in early accident reports as the gospel truth of what happened. Reading that police suspected--didn't know, just suspected--alcohol's involvement was probably enough for some to decide the victim was drunk and think there's nothing else to know.
