Stephon Mitchell Injured in Car Accident in Arlington, TX

Arlington, TX -- December 26, 2022, Stephon Wayne Mitchell was injured after an accident where his vehicle crashed off-road.

Investigations said that the crash happened off the corner of Davis Drive and Greek Row Drive at around 6:50 p.m. It appears that 58-year-old Stephon Mitchell was the driver of a Ford F-450 traveling southbound on Davis. Somehow, the vehicle lost control, causing it to go off the corner where it hit a pole.

Mitchell was said to have incapacitating injuries due to the crash. No one else appeared to be involved. There are a lot of reasons a large truck like this could lose control and veer off-road. Was there a tire blowout? Some sort of defect? Is this a work vehicle that an employer didn't maintain properly? Was there something hazardous in the road?

I know folks are generally quick to just blame the drivers in these situations, and obviously things like distracted driving, for example, are worth investigations. But making these assumptions instead of letting the evidence speak for itself is just begging for something important to slip through the cracks. Understanding this can help folks realize just how crucial thorough investigations really are after wrecks like this.
