Ereca Borjas Davila Killed in Truck Accident in Crosby County, TX
Crosby County, TX -- January 3, 2023, Ereca Borjas Davila was killed due to an accident where a vehicle struck her on the highway.
Initial details released by DPS officials says the incident happened several miles north of Ralls at around 5:50 a.m. It appears that 64-year-old Ereca Borjas Davila was walking at the time. While doing so, a southbound truck hit Davila, resulting in fatal injuries.
Right now, there are no details concerning where exact the victim was in the roadway. Investigations are ongoing, and I can only hope authorities are truly giving the incident the attention it deserves. Frankly, I see people overlook pedestrian accidents like this all the time.
People tend to assume it's a simple matter of whether or not someone had the right-of-way, but things are rarely so straight-forward. Was the victim safely on the side of the road? Were they visible? Did other drivers pass the victim without any incident? Is this an area notoriously dangerous for pedestrians which local authorities have neglected to address?
In my line of work, I’ve helped a lot of families through tough times. I see every day how the most important thing for families after an incident like this is to get answers the most important question they have: "How did this happen?" I don't see why this incident would be an exception to that.
