Voneika Foots Injured in Alleged Hit-and-run Accident in Humble, TX
Humble, TX -- May 13, 2022, Voneika Foots sustained injuries resulting from an accident which allegedly involved a hit-and-run.
Harris County officials gave statements which said the incident occurred at approximately 6:11 p.m. at the intersection of Wilson Road and Canyon Village Trace Drive, which is north of the tollway.
Deputies claimed that Voneika Foots was in a vehicle traveling eastbound on Canyon Village Trace. While attempting to turn northbound, witnesses testified that a tan Ford F-150 traveling southbound failed to stop and crashed into Foots's vehicle. Foots reportedly was injured due to the collision.

According to officials, the driver of the pickup got out, entered a Charger, then left the scene. Police say they ran the truck's plates and ultimately allege that Henry Jack III was the driver who failed to stop and render aid. Charges are pending as of December 20, 2022.
If the authorities have the right guy here, then it's good that they were able to take action and see there is some sort of resolution to all of this. Few things are more infuriating than hit-and-runs, which is why it's crucial those drivers face appropriate consequences. Part of that, however, will be finding out why the driver ran. It's not always as simple as just them panicking. There could be unique factors, like drugs or alcohol, which warrant more complex approaches.
