Driver Injured in Truck Rollover Accident on West Main Street in High Bridge, NJ
High Bridge, NJ -- January 5, 2023, one person was injured due to an accident where a semi-truck overturned onto a car along West Main Street.
Investigations said that the incident happened in the afternoon hours at the intersection of West Main Street and Bridge Street.
Hunterdon County crews responded after a semi-truck hauling construction equipment somehow overturned at the stop sign from Bridge onto Main. Doing so, the cargo crushed a car beside the semi, trapping one person in the wreckage.

Rescue crews were able to extricate the occupant of the car and fly them to a hospital with unspecified injuries. Right now, additional details about the crash are unavailable.
When I look at images of where it appears this happened, I can't help wondering how the hell this truck managed to overturn. This isn't some winding country highway or a high-speed curve. It's just a small intersection. Did the truck driver take a turn too fast? Did they look up at the last second after being distracted and lose control? Did the cargo shift due to being secured improperly? Has this sort of thing happened before with this driver or their employer's other drivers? Someone could have died here, and I think the family involved and the community as a whole deserves to know how all of this could have been avoided.
