Ezekiel Ortega Killed in 18-wheeler Accident in Jones County, TX

Preliminary details indicate that 31-year-old Ezekiel Ortega was outside of his vehicle, which was stopped along the right shoulder of the highway. It was said that he stepped into the right lane of travel. There, an 18-wheeler struck Ortega, causing fatal injuries.

Right now, there are no additional details confirmed. My main concern in these situations is what evidence the authorities are working with. If they have something clear like video evidence or numerous witness statements, they certainly haven't mentioned that. It would shock people to see how often authorities simply ask one person what happened and simply run with their statements. Someone lost their life here, and their loved ones deserve to hear their side of the story. Are steps being taken to ensure that happens?
