Analisa Trevino, 3 Injured in Car Accident on East Riverside at Alameda in Austin, TX
UPDATE (January 16, 2023): Authorities gave additional details publicly which identified one of the victims in the crash as Analisa Trevino. Trevino was said to have incapacitating injuries. Three others involved were said to have non-incapacitating injuries. The cause of the crash has yet to be officially confirmed.
Austin, TX -- January 1, 2023, at least eight people were injured due to an accident where vehicles collided at East Riverside and Alameda.
Preliminary details put the crash at East Riverside and Alameda at around 1:16 a.m. It involved at least two vehicles, but additional details are unavailable at this time. Ultimately, eight people were taken to hospitals with various injuries.

This early in the morning on one of the biggest drinking holidays of the year, crashes are tragically common, usually due to drunk driving. Not only could that be what happened here, but it could even lead to serious consequences if evidence shows there was a bar involved that illegally over-served someone. That's something authorities don't often look into on their own.
But there are other possibilities to consider, likely or not, which police can also overlook. That's one of the reasons someone with my experience relies on independent investigations that can catch what authorities allow to slip through the cracks. Those steps could show something important went overlooked here, as well.
