Usually, when there are accusations of drunk driving, it's only a matter of time before3 authorities take the action they see as necessary. But those actions don't always cover everything, and it can still leave the victims and families in need of further answers. It's one of the reasons that it's so important to ensure there are proper investigations.
One thing to consider, for example, is where a drunk driver got their alcohol. If evidence shows that a business served them while they were obviously intoxicated, that establishment could also be responsible for resulting injuries under dram shop law. Is that something being looked into here? It's just one possibility, of course, but when there's people in need of help, finding that authorities aren't being thorough enough is a vital step toward ensuring someone picks up their slack.
